When vaccines become available, people served will be contacted by their Service and Support Administrator (SSA) to coordinate the vaccine process. Please COVID Vaccine FAQs to review our COVID-19 FAQs.

DCBDD COVID-19 Pandemic Response
The COVID-19 pandemic is evolving daily. Our response to this situation will also continue to evolve as we receive more information and guidance from the CDC and our local and state public health departments. Please know that we are committed to continuing services and support for people we serve and our provider community. The actions we have taken were made out of an abundance of caution as we play a role in helping reduce the spread of this virus.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, DCBDD taken a few immediate steps:
- DCBDD has chosen to cancel or reschedule events, mass gatherings, and in-person meetings until further notice.
- DCBDD employees are conducting visits with the people we serve, providers and the community through virtual, online, or phone communications when possible. In-person meetings will occur when it is absolutely necessary.

Crisis Planning Tool
VIDEO NOT AVAILABLE
We are in challenging times and DCBDD is focused on supporting the people we serve, their families, and providers in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. In these uncertain times, planning ahead for the unexpected is so important. We have developed a crisis planning tool, to help you and your loved ones prepare for the unexpected.
This tool provides a quick snapshot of a person receiving services. In the event of an emergency, this tool can be quickly provided to whoever is need of the information. Click here to download the tool.
This tool can be given to…
- A healthcare worker in the event a guardian or provider is unable to be with the person;
- A new provider filling in during the coronavirus pandemic; or
- A family member who typically does not care for the person served
We encourage you to make several copies of this tool and keep it with you to distribute whenever needed. If you have questions about the tool please contact your SSA or Service Coordinator.
No one knows what the future holds but the more prepared we are, the better we can ensure the people we serve receive the best possible support.

#DSPHero Campaign
We want to share our appreciation for the amazing direct support professionals (DSPs) and the incredible ways they support people with disabilities. We have launched the DSP Hero campaign to convey how grateful we are for their continued support.
Governor DeWine asked Ohioans to fly their flag to stand united with one another during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Sharing his sentiment, we ask you to print this “flag” and stick it in your front window or share on social media to show your support for the incredible work our DSPs are doing. We hope you will post a picture of your flag on social media, wherever it may be hung, and use the #DSPHero.
