March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month!
Every March, the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DCBDD) and our partners collaborate to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. This month-long campaign serves as an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities while fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. March 3 – Courtney’s Corner
3:30P-4:30P, Delaware County District Library (Main)
Courtney’s Corner is an informal, family-focused discussion of lessons learned during the transition to adult life, led by Outreach Advocate Courtney Hines. The March meeting will feature a representative from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. Come and learn about job exploration and employment supports from OOD! March 4 – DD Awareness & Advocacy Day

The Developmental Disability (DD) Advocacy and Awareness Day is an annual event that has taken place for more than a decade at the Ohio Statehouse in March which is DD Awareness Month. The event is meant to educate and empower Ohioans with developmental disabilities, their family members and other community allies to come together on a single day to advocate policy issues which impact the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
March 5 – Wear Blue for DD Awareness

March 11 – Open Door Stage and Screen webinar

Open Door Stage and Screen provides a truly unique opportunity for individuals to showcase and refine their craft in the theater arts. Learn about how participants can hone their craft in acting, script writing, costume creation, stage production and tech, set design, and more in a supportive environment. March 17 – Learning Aid Ohio webinar

Learning Aid Ohio’s mission is to connect families with tutors to help students stay on track toward their unique academic goals, specific to their individual needs and based on the curriculum their traditional teachers set. In support of that mission, we provide students on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) funding for in-person, supplemental learning support. March 24 – DCBDD’s Family Forum

The DCBDD Family Forum will serve as a space for families to connect, share experiences, and access information about the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DCBDD) services, resources, and initiatives. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where families can come together to navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes of their loved ones with developmental disabilities.
