Quality Assessments – Medication Administration and Health-Related Activities
The Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DCBDD) is now accepting informal requests for a registered nurse instructor or a registered nurse trainer who will serve as a quality assessment registered nurse to conduct assessments, assist with consultation and quality assessment oversight.
Quality assessment reviews shall be conducted when developmental disabilities personnel perform health-related activities or administer prescribed medication for individuals who receive services from certified supported living providers or receive residential support services from certified home and community-based services providers and are conducted at least every three years.   DCBDD expects the selected applicant to conduct approximately sixty quality assessment reviews to in 2017.  The selected applicant is not permitted to provide any other services for the county board for the length of the contract.
Quality assessment reviews shall be completed in a format prescribed by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilites (DODD) and shall include, but not limited to:
• Observation of performance of health-related activities and administration of prescribed medication;
• Review of the system of communication and supports related to performance of health-related activities and administration of prescribed medication for the individual being assessed to ensure complete and accurate administration of health care directives given by the individual’s health care professionals;
• Review of documentation of performance of health-related activities and administration of prescribed medication.
• Review of all medication/treatment errors from the past twelve months; and
• Review of the system of processes and procedures used by the provider to monitor and document completeness and correct techniques used during medication administration.
• Follow up on required plans of correction.
The quality assessment registered nurse shall act as a resource for DCBDD and providers of services concerning health management issues.
Interested parties are asked to submit their detailed proposal with timeline and cost projection (not to exceed $23,000), past experience with quality assessment reviews, and references to Superintendent, Kristine Hodge at Kristine.Hodge@dcbdd.org.  Please submit your letter of interest and proposal no later than Friday, April 7, 2017.
