Stephanie Finney

Stephanie Finney is an energetic eighteen year old student at Westerville South High School. She has a great personality and is a very friendly, outgoing young woman.

Stephanie and her father have both been very interested in what the future will hold for Stephanie as she transitions from high school into the adult world of work and services. As a result, they both attended the transition sessions sponsored by the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Although she still has a couple of years of high school left, it is never too early to begin planning for the transition process. Since attending the transition workshop, Mr. Finney was recently appointed to serve on the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Stephanie has been active in Special Olympics for several years and won first place in the 100 meter run last year. She graciously agreed to be a part of one of the transition sessions and did a presentation on her experiences with Special Olympics and some of the medals that she has won.

Currently, Stephanie is in the culinary arts program at the Delaware Career Center. She loves her classes and does a good job in that program. Last summer Stephanie worked for Columbus Parks and Recreation and helped with activities for the children. She would also like to experience other work settings before graduating high school.
